BoomFootball’s Steven Frank Oswego IL QB
Oswego kicked off their season with a bang! After only playing 6 minutes of the game on Friday night before play was suspended due to the weather. They defeated reigning State Champions Batavia High School on the final play of the game Saturday night. Steven Frank (2016) ended the game with 4 touchdowns and 256 yards through the air.
“It was like a movie, stuff like that doesn’t happen to normal people,” said Frank.
September 1st didn’t just mark a free day off of school for the talented signal caller. It marked the official start for college programs to be able to contact 2016 prospects through email and social media outlets.
Just hours into the day Frank was contacted by members of several college programs.
“So far Illinois, Miami of Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Utah, and Iowa”
The good news continued throughout the day as the Panthers were greeted by a familiar face when they returned to practice Monday. 2013 All Conference Wide Receiver Zach West (2015) decided to rejoin his teammates after taking the entire summer off to focus on basketball.
“It feels good to have him, but I also have two great receivers Joe and Ryan who can get the job done as well. It’s more like having an extra weapon now.”
With the Frank-West connection set to be reunited Week 4 once he completes the mandatory IHSA practice rules. The Panthers could be an even bigger threat to their opponents once the offense has West added into the mix.
“I think if he works hard and the rest of the team does we can be special.”
Frank and the Panthers will face off with Waubonsie Valley High School this week. They faced each other twice last season and the Panthers ended their season during the second round of the playoffs.
“We are trying to go out and make another statement against a good team and the momentum into the conference games,” said Frank.
