Illini commit and BoomFootball Db Pat Nelson

With the regular season just weeks away Hales DB Pat Nelson has set the bar extremely high for this season.
“My goal is to be All-State and to win a State Championship, said Nelson.”
Nelson is one of latest verbal commits for an Illini recruiting class that includes 7v7 teammate Dre Brown
(DeKalb). The 2015 class will be highly anticipated once they reach
campus due to all the in state recruits they have been able to land.
Expectations couldn’t be any higher and B1G 10 Championships are
“I picked Illinois because I wanted to play B1G, my
coaches felt that it was the best fit for me and I think I can succeed
in the program.”
“I think the recruiting class is very strong and I believe we are the start of something great.”
Nelson has been able to showcase his talent on both
sides of the ball for his high school but is expected to play defensive
back for the Illini.
Illinois has shown lots of interest in Midwest Boom athletes during this offseason as they also extended scholarship offers to top 2016 prospects Steven Frank (Oswego) and Drake Spears (West Aurora).

“It would be great to have them because they are talented and from Illinois.”
Gus’s Take
Nelson will easily be one of the top players in the
entire state this season. He already has the size to play B1G football
and is still continuing to work on his speed. If Hales wants to continue
its success Nelson will have to have a solid senior season.
