Reigning European champion and title defender, Germany has made it to the final game at every one of the last four European Championships. Apart from its titles in 01 and 10, Germany also won silver twice (87, 00) and bronze four times (83, 85, 89, and 93) so they are no strangers to the medal games. The German national team is one of the 2014 favorites in the race for the gold. But coming off of a heart breaker vs a top Japan team, team Germany didnt look so strong. Over the past weeks im sure some changes have been made and they will make a strong push to defend. With pretty solid players on both sides of the ball the German team should be able to keep all games in reach. They will open up tonight vs a strong Finland team. With five titles dating back to the first in 1985, 93, 95, 97, and 00, four silver medals (83, 89, 91, and 01), and two bronze (87, 05), Finland has been the most successful nation in the European Championships over the years. This time, however, the team from the Far North can be regarded as an underdog. Back at the 2010 European Championship in Germany, the Finns defeated Great Britain in the play-offs to preserve their spot in the A-Group for 2014 ! Tune in tonight and check out the game on ORF …… Livestream: http://tvthek.orf.at/live
