Eagles to Defend the Cup !!!!

Washington, DC – The USA Eagles Football Club has announced they will defend their 2010 and 2011 Mediterranean Cup Title for he Four Helmets Trophy when they meet national teams from Italy, Denmark and Spain this July at Florence, Italy.

The Eagles will meet at Stuttgart, Germany where they will conduct a High School Football Camp for Department of Defense High School athletes from July 14-15. They will also hold their training camp at the same U.S. Military Facilities over a five day period before traveling to Florence for the Cup Tournament.

The first opponent the Eagles will face will most likely come in the form of the National Team of Denmark whose most recent appearance in the Group B European Football Championships surprised many and surpassed the expectations of most of the European Football Community. They defeated a very powerful Czech Republic Team to earn a place in the Championship Game and eventually earned the Silver Medal for Second Place in the Championship Tournament.

July 19, 2012 at Florence, Italy

Game One – USA Eagles vs. Denmark
Game Two – Italy vs. Spain
July 21, 2012 at Florence, Italy

Third Place Game – Losers from Semi-Final Games
Championship Game – Winners from Semi-Final Games
This is the third year the Mediterranean Cup has been held with previous events taking place in Bologna and Varese, Italy in 2010 and 2011. The USA Eagles have won both the prior events defeating the Host Italian National Team 22-20 in four collegiate overtime periods in 2010 and by a score of 34-10 in 2011.
