IFL Colorado Ice lands Oakland Raider
Fort Collins, CO – The Colorado Ice are proud to announce the signings of former Oakland Raider Mario Henderson and Hofstra graduate Mike Trice, Jr.
Henderson is a 6’7”, 350 lb offensive lineman from Florida State University, who was rated as the 12th best offensive tackle prospect in the 2007 draft class. Henderson was one of the highest rated offensive linemen in the draft, leading to him being selected in the 3rd round (Pick 27, Overall Pick 91) by the Oakland Raiders. Henderson spent the 2007-2010 seasons with the Raiders; playing in 43 games and starting in 28. Over his final two seasons, Henderson started in 23 games for the Raiders.
While at Florida State, Henderson played in 28 games, starting in 15 of those contests. Henderson received a great amount of recognition before, during, and after his senior season; on the national and conference levels. Henderson’s combination of size, athleticism, and experience will be relied upon to help pave the way for the explosive skilled players on the Ice offense.
Trice is a 6’6”, 365 lb offensive lineman from Hofstra University. During his time at Hofstra, Trice played in 38 games, starting in 33 of those contests. Trice proved his versatility throughout his time at Hofstra as he started more than 10 games at two different positions. After his senior season, Trice was listed as one of the top small school prospects in the 2010 NFL draft due to his size, power, and experience.
Trice’s sheer size and ability drew attention from numerous scouts after his senior season; eventually landing him with the Trenton Steel of the SIFL. Trice was a key cog in the Steel offensive line; helping lead them to a playoff appearance in their inaugural season. Trice’s size and experience will be counted on to provide a dominate force up front for the Ice offensive line.
