Jyvaskyla building a strong 2012 team!!!!

The 2012 Jyväskylä Jaguaarit of the Finnish Maple League (top division) is looking promising after some major off season signings.

Finnish National Team defensive backs Kimmo Pasanen, Esa Van Hoja, and Ville Valtteri Suojanen, all have signed contracts for 2012:
-Pasanen who comes from Division I Kuopio Steelers helped Finland defeat Sweden 35-34 October 1st in Stockholm along with teammate Esa Van Hoja.
-Van Hoja comes to Jyväskylä from the Helsinki Roosters.
-Suojanen was a team captain for the Finnish Junior National Team, and also a developmental player for the Men’s National Team this season.
-Suojanen comes to Jyväskylä from the Turku Trojans.

Also joining the Jaguaarit is Samuel Seppälä also from Division I Kuopio Steelers. Seppälä was a 2 way starting lineman for the Finnish Junior National Team, and a member of the Men’s National Team Development Roster.

In addition to the new signees, after a season away from football, 2010 Maple League Rookie of the Year William Lahti returns to Jyväskylä and looks to help on both sides of the ball as he did in 2010.

Also returning for the Jaguaarit is the 2011 Maple League Offensive Player of the Year Perttu Ahila who played a major role in leading Finland past Sweden with 170 all purpose yards.

Jaguaarit Team MVP and Men’s National Team FB/TE/LB/DL Joonas Raatikainen has also re-signed for 2012.
